The Butterfly Hotel on the island of Rhodes is a lovely place to stay.  The position of the hotel is central and the Mandraki Port is an easy walk away.  The beach is nearby too, a few minutes away on foot, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and markets in the area.

This apartment block is fairly small and each room is simply decorated.  It may be simple but the rooms are stylish and elegant. The reception area is manned 24 hours a day and the staff will be delighted to help you with your travel and touring arrangements.  While the hotel is in a good position for you to walk around on your own, you may want a full or half day tour, or a tailor made tour, so you can explore the whole island.  There are many beaches, view sites and historical ruins and temples to see.

Of course if you are staying at the Butterfly Hotel you should also visit the Butterfly Park in Petaloudes.   In July and August you can see colourful tiger moths and they really are extraordinary.

Rhodes is a fascinating island.  The Old Town of Rhodes is fascinating.  It is an old walled medieval town and the roads are narrow, filled with shops and restaurants, ancient buildings, the oldest mosque in Greece and the Palace of the Grand Masters.  Pop in at the Archeological Museum too.  If you would like to do a walking or a bike tour, that can be arranged.

Bikes can be hired, car hire can be arranged and no trip to Rhodes is complete without a boat cruise.  Do this in the day and stop off for swimming and picnics, or at evening when the sun goes down.  Then enjoy a delicious meal in one of Rhode’s fabulous and local tavernas.
